Rhythmic Journeys Offerings
Experiential opportunities of continuing growth for individuals, groups,
and organizations
If you're lucky enough to be within
driving distance of my home base, all of the following is at your
disposal. But what about everyone else? Have you
ever read a book or heard a speaker and thought to your self, "What
I would give to be able to work with that clinician. If only I lived
closer." Well, what makes Rhythmic
Journeys even more unique is that it can
come to you! Yes, you read it right. And all you'll have "to
give" is time to work together with me and your clinician to
bring a small group of people together to make it happen. All it takes
is the power of imagination. Imagine going through the same 5 step
Rhythmic Journeys process in your home area with the same small group
of people spread out over a year or longer. Imagine how being connected
with your body and feelings could benefit the talk therapy you're
involved in. This isn't meant in any way to replace your present therapy.
It's meant to enhance it. The entire process unfolds with 1) the creation
of a safe container in which one can work, 2) connecting with your
true self, 3) hearing and understanding the self's language of "feelings",
4) sharing those feelings with others, and 5) relating with others
while remaining true to your self. Read
the story of someone who has experienced this process. Go To
"JRI
interview".
OFFERINGS:
(All five steps of the Rhythmic Journeys process are contained within
these next three offerings. They are designed to be done in the order
listed. Groups made up of patients living at a distance would use
the full day or week-end model for all offerings spread out over time.)
Intentional
Safety:
Has traditional talk therapy not worked for you? Do you have a difficult
time trusting people, therapists included? Is it difficult for you
to feel safe around people? Intentional Safety is
a 2 hour weekly experiential group where members learn
how to create a “safe container”, trust it, feel
one’s feelings and needs and speak them out within it, thereby
better preparing to begin the process of Moving Through!
Moving Through:
Now that you've created a safe container within which you can work,
Moving Through is a 2 hour group, 6 hour workshop
or a full week-end process, using Authentic Movement to discover one's
true self, followed by Improvisational Movement as well as sculpting
to access feelings, take-in feedback, gain insight
and promote change through step-by-step exercises done at your pace.
Together yet
Separate:
Now that you've been able to allow your self to feel your feelings,
speak them and move freely and spontaneously as your self, it’s
time for you to move with other people, just like in real life!
Together yet Separate is a Weekly 2 hour group for
individuals looking to build healthy relationships,
and for committed couples/partners focused on making
a good relationship even better. Using all three movement forms
of Authentic, Individual Improvisation and Contact Improvisation,
all will experience a step by step approach to being
in relationship without giving up or losing one’s self.
This is also available in the 6 hour and week-end format.
OFFERING: for professional care givers and everyday folks
as well.
Vicarious Trauma &
Compassion Fatigue:
Family members and friends: Are you
responsible for the care of a dependent loved one with a debilitating
medical or psychiatric illness? Have you become
as shut–in as they are? Are you feeling exhausted and
in need of support for your self? Compassion Fatigue
is a 2 hour group or 6 hour workshop for people just like your self
focused on sharing what it’s like for you day after day, being
heard by others, responded to with compassion, and learning how to
identify needs and get some of them met.

OFFERINGS: Psycho-spiritual
1) Are you a pastor or member of a worship committee
looking to engage your church members in a different and meaningful
experience that will then be shared with the entire community in Sunday
worship? I suggest a Saturday Improvisational Movement
workshop followed by liturgical dance at the Sunday service.
2) Are you looking for an unusual type of retreat,
for a day or week-end, focused on the silence of the contemplative?
Give your self the gift of turning off cell phones and pagers and
go within yourself to find what awaits you there. I suggest a retreat
using Authentic Movement that balances the needs of both body and
spirit.
3) All of the above mentioned Rhythmic Journeys offerings are also
available for Church groups as a means of continued growth.

in a workshop but doesn't know where to start? I can both create
and facilitate or co-facilitate a workshop for most any type of group.
B) Would the event that you've planned be enhanced
by a piece of performance art focused on the theme of the workshop?
I can create and perform Improvisational Movement thematic pieces
for most any type of gathering.
